Physical exercise including cardio and resistance training is one of the best things you can do to reduce Alzheimer’s risk. I’ve read many references indicating so. I try to start including these reference here to help motivate myself to exercise more.
In the book, The Brain’s Way of Healing, it mentions a study (page 96) where …
“Exercise (defined as vigorous exercise, or walking at least two miles a day, or biking ten miles a day). Exercise was the most powerful contributor to decrease risk of both general cognitive decline and dementia”.
Hmmm. Walking two miles a day. I think I can do that. If the average human walking speed is 3 miles per hour. Then two miles is just 40 minutes of walking. And you can spread that out over the course of the day instead of 40 minutes in one go.
Read when is the best time to exercise.
